How Long to Cook Your Steak?

Grill the steak on one side for minutes.

Then, grill the steak on the other side for minutes.

Grill at a temperature of °F (°C).

For best results, achieve an internal temperature of °F (°C) in the thickest part of the steak.

Quick Tip:

Rare:

Internal temperature of 125°F (52°C), grill at high heat (450-500°F / 232-260°C)

Cooking time per side: Approximately 2-3 minutes for a 0.5-inch thick steak, add 1-2 minutes for each additional 0.25 inches of thickness.

Medium Rare:

Internal temperature of 135°F (57°C), grill at medium-high heat (400-450°F / 204-232°C)

Cooking time per side: Approximately 3-4 minutes for a 0.5-inch thick steak, add 1-2 minutes for each additional 0.25 inches of thickness.

Medium:

Internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), grill at medium heat (350-400°F / 177-204°C)

Cooking time per side: Approximately 4-5 minutes for a 0.5-inch thick steak, add 1-2 minutes for each additional 0.25 inches of thickness.

Medium Well:

Internal temperature of 155°F (68°C), grill at medium-low heat (325-350°F / 163-177°C)

Cooking time per side: Approximately 5-6 minutes for a 0.5-inch thick steak, add 1-2 minutes for each additional 0.25 inches of thickness.

Well Done:

Internal temperature of 160°F (71°C), grill at low heat (300-325°F / 149-163°C)

Cooking time per side: Approximately 6-7 minutes for a 0.5-inch thick steak, add 1-2 minutes for each additional 0.25 inches of thickness.

Please keep in mind that these are just guidelines, and cooking times may vary based on your specific grilling setup and preferences.

Always use a meat thermometer to ensure your steak reaches the desired internal temperature.

Additionally, remember to let the steak rest for a few minutes after grilling to allow the juices to redistribute before serving.
